The Enchanted Series - Summoned (Ch 01)

Chapter One:
I caught the eye of a gorgeous guy as I walked into my favorite club, Sonar, and couldn't help but to make flirty eye contact with him. His sexy smile made my stomach flutter as I made my way towards the bar. My friend Ryan was working the bar tonight. He saw me coming and made my usual drink, a Long Island.
I turned around and scanned the crowd. I hadn't seen Angela yet. She was supposed to meet me here at 10. Roni, my brother was the bouncer tonight. A blonde girl wearing a shimmery red dress that was entirely to short for her booty was practically throwing her self at him. How typical.
Roni is a good looking guy, and is quite a hit with the ladies. He has sandy blonde hair just like mine and the same emerald green eyes with sparkles of blue. He is very buff and very tone with a lot of upper body strength and wash board abs. He likes to do a lot of body building competitions.
Anyway, With all the girls he has dated I'm surprised there are any left in this town who haven't been burned by him already. He isn't exactly mister faithful.
My cell phone buzzed, Angela was running late. Apparently she is picking up Brandy on her way over. Brandy takes FOREVER primping to get dolled up. If we plan to bring her anywhere with us we usually tell her we are leaving about an hour before we actually plan. I love the girl to death, I've known her since first grade when I moved to Oak Ridge, but she is a true prissy girl.
I took the last sip of my Long Island and turned back around to face the bar, waiting for Ryan to come back towards me.
"Hey, I see you're here alone tonight." Said a voice I didn't recognise. It was the cute guy I made contact with when I entered the club.
"Sorry, let me introduce myself. I'm Kalen." I must have given him a confused look.
"Oh!" I said overly enthusiastic like an idiot. "I'm Luna! Nice to meet you. And I'm not alone, I'm waiting for a few friends."
"Would one of them happen to be your boyfriend?" He asked.
"No, actually." I said flirtatiously. He was so adorable. Now that he was closer to me I could see his eyes were green. They seemed to have flecks of gold accenting them. How interesting.
Ryan came back over and refilled my Long Island.
"What will it be?" he asked Kalen.
"Heineken please." What a polite guy. Those are hard to come by these days I thought to myself.
"So Luna, is there any chance I might be able to get your number?"
"Possibly" and I winked. I took his phone off the bar and clicked it on. To my surprise it was a Verizon HTC Thunderbolt. One of those Android smart phones with a huge screen. I love technology so I smiled when I noticed we had the same phone. I'd never have pegged this guy as someone into technology stuff. He traced his pattern on the screen to unlock it. I added my number and clicked dial so I'd have his number too. If this turned out badly at least I'd know not to answer the call. I'm a pretty practical girl.
My friends Angela and Brandy finally made an appearance. I could tell right off that bad Brandy was enthralled with the hotty I was chatting with at the bar. She knows better than to try to snatch a guy up one of her sisters is interested in thank god.
"Hey Luna!" Called Brandy as she rushed up to us.
"Hey yourself woman! Where have you been lately?" I asked. I hadn't seen her in almost a month and She hadn't updated her facebook either.
"Oh, I went on an emergency vacation with my mom to Ireland!" Her eyes had a shine of excitement. I could tell she had some extravagant story to tell us probably about a guy she met there.
"Emergency vacation? Last I checked vacations are not an emergency." I chucked after and rolled my eyes. "You obviously have some big story to tell us, lets go sit at the booth in the corner. Kalen, would you do the honors of joining us?" I asked smiling at him.
"Would love too." He said cooly.
There is something about how he speaks. He seems so cool and collected and casual. It's like he has no worries. He must be well off but humble about it.
Brandy and Angela scooted into one side and Kalen and I sat on the other.
"This is Kalen by the way, Kalen this is Angela and Brandy." I said kind of excitedly. I was excited, Kalen is really cute in a really manly way. I was guessing he was a few years older than us but not by much.
"Nice to meet you." He said in a cool calm voice.
Brandy was smiling ear to ear and antsy to tell us something. After a moment of silence she excitedly flung her hand out to the center of the table and announced nearly in happy tears "I'M GETTING MARRIED!"
"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed. "Thats wonderful! But to who?" I was confused. Brandy hadn't been dating anyone in over a year. She was so picky when it came to dating. No one was ever up to par for her tastes.
"His name is Connor, I met him at Med School this semester" She said. "The emergency vacation to Ireland was so I could meet his mom." Her excitement turned to sadness. "She has cancer and only has 6 months according to the doctors."
"Thats awful" I said, "but exciting that your getting married!"
"Yeah!" she squeaked.
"Being your so quiet Angie, I'm assuming you already new?" I said.
"Yeah she wouldn't shut up on the way over here" Angela said with a little chuckle.
We decided to go out on the dance floor for a little and have some fun. Ke$ha Tik Tok was playing, one of my favorite songs. Kalen and I danced for what felt like hours. I was absorbed in his presence. He radiated happiness it seemed like as we danced. Before I knew it the DJ was announcing Last Call over the speakers.
I pulled back from Kalen and he said "I had a great night, I hope you'll be calling me soon" and winked at me. He let got of my hands as he walked away. Brandy and Angela seemed to appear out of no where. We headed out the door to our cars.
